K2 Consulting

Kelly Hnat is an industry leader in RIM and IDMP and she heads a specialty consultancy with expertise in business processes and systems for life science regulatory affairs (RA) and RA’s partner functions. After many years of success in her field, Kelly embarked on a journey to fully brand her consultancy, K2. With no prior brand or logo in place, I was hired in 2020 to design Kelly’s brand from the ground up, including:

  1. A logo,
  2. Brand guidelines,
  3. A PowerPoint template and starter tookit,
  4. And LinkedIn site banners and user-friendly social media cards

Like all successful projects, it all started with good client-designer communication, including calls with Kelly to undertand her preferences, her goals, and most importantly (to get the project off and running), understanding what motivated Kelly to name her company after one of the deadliest mountains on the planet? The answers to those questions yielded a powerful brand launching pad and user friendly templates.

An initial set of six logo options were presented, duriing wihgh the final logo was chosen. Round 1 logos were presented in black and white only, to allow Kelly to focus on design. Round 2 focused on color options. The final logo package not only included the color options below, but native design files, as well as all color options saved in the most commonly used file formats.

After the logo, brand guidelines were established to set the look and tone through specific guidlines for messaging, color, typography, and imagery. Brand guidelines are the foundation upon which a consistent corporate identity is built. Full brandguidelines can be found here, with a sampling of pages below.

Finally, a comprehenseive, user-friendly PowerPoint template and mini toolkit (i.e., a slide deck of 20+ custom, pre-branded slides) was developed to ensure Kelly had the tools she needed to take full ownership of her projects on a go-forward basis.
